The guide
Everything about tail plugs.
A tail plug has three parts: the plug, which sits inside you; the base, the round stopper that stays outside and keeps everything where it should be; and the tail, which hangs from the base. Here's how to choose each one.
1 · Size
- SSmall. The gentle start.
- MMedium. Our standard, and the one on the classic fox tail.
- LLarge. For when you know you like it.
Exact measurements are in the last photo of every listing.
2 · Material
| Metal | Smooth and weighty, and it warms to your body. Chrome-plated aluminum alloy; 304 stainless steel on request. |
|---|---|
| Silicone | Medical-grade, lighter and a little softer. Lovely if you're new. |
3 · Attachment
- Attached
- Tail and plug are one piece.
- Detachable
- Swap tails on one plug in seconds, or take the tail off to wear it out.
- Clip-on
- No plug at all: a metal clip for a belt loop or costume.
Then there's the tail itself. Ours run from a perky 17 inches to a 40-inch floor dragger. Longer tails are heavier and swing more; shorter ones are easier to sit in and wear all evening. All of them are 100% vegan faux fur, chosen over years for how soft it is and how long it lasts.
Lengths
- Short and perky. Easy to sit in, easy to wear for hours.
- Ribbon tails. A little longer, finished with satin.
- The classic. Swings when you walk.
- Long cat tails, slim and sleek.
- Floor dragger. Sweeps the floor behind you.
Regular tail or Tug Tail™?
Regular tails are for wearing and wagging, never for pulling: always remove a plug by its base. If pulling is part of the fun, get a Tug Tail™. They're built for it: extra durable, detachable and interchangeable.
Your first time
Take your time. Use more water-based lube than you think you need, on the plug and on you. Warm up first, with fingers or a tongue; being relaxed and turned on makes all the difference. Breathe out as it goes in, let your body settle around it, and then forget about it for a while and enjoy yourself. When you're done, take it out slowly, by the base.
Five rules
- Water-based lube, and plenty of it.
- Start small. You can always size up.
- Go slowly. Relaxed is everything.
- Stop if it hurts.
- Out by the base, never by the tail.
Looking after your tail
Brush it gently. Spot-clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, and don't soak it. Store it flat or hang it from the plug end, away from pets who think it's a toy.
